About the Color Picker from Image

The Img Stop Color Picker from Image works like an eyedropper for any picture. Move over the image and a zoom lens shows the pixels under your pointer, so you can hit the exact color even on thin lines and small text. The live panel shows the color as a HEX code, an RGB value and an HSL value at the same time.

Designers, developers and small business owners use it to match brand colors from a logo, copy a shade from a photo or check the colors in a screenshot of a website. Each click adds the color to a Picked colors list, so you can collect a few colors in a row. The image is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the HEX code of a color in an image?

Open the image in the Color Picker and click the color you want. The HEX code, for example #1E40AF, is copied to your clipboard right away and shown in the Picked colors list. You can paste it into any design app or CSS file.

What is the difference between HEX, RGB and HSL?

All three describe the same color in different ways. HEX is a six character code used on the web. RGB gives the amount of red, green and blue from 0 to 255. HSL gives hue, saturation and lightness, which is easier for making lighter or darker versions.

Can I pick colors from an image on my phone?

Yes. Open the page on your phone, add the photo and tap the spot you want. The color codes appear and the HEX value is copied. Moving your finger over the image updates the zoom lens.

Why is the color slightly different from what I expected?

Photos are made of many slightly different pixels because of light, shadows and JPG compression. The tool shows the exact color of the single pixel you clicked. Try a few spots in a flat area to find the most typical shade.

Can I pick more than one color?

Yes. Every click adds a new color to the Picked colors list, newest at the top. Each row shows HEX, RGB and HSL values you can copy, and the × button removes a color you do not need.
