Your files never leave your device. All processing happens in your browser.
Open Img Stop Compress Image, drop your JPG, PNG or WebP files and move the Quality slider (70–85% looks the same to most people). Check the live preview for the new file size, then click Compress images and download each file or all of them as a ZIP.
About the Compress Image
Img Stop Compress Image makes photos and graphics lighter by lowering the file size in kilobytes while keeping the same look. It works with JPG, PNG and WebP. JPG and WebP files are re-saved at the quality you choose. PNG files are made smaller by reducing the number of colors with fine dithering, so edges and text stay clean. All work happens in your browser.
Smaller images load faster on websites, send faster on WhatsApp and email, and fit inside the upload limits of forms and online stores. A 4 MB phone photo can often drop to a few hundred KB with no change you can see. You can also set a maximum width in pixels, which cuts the size even more for large camera photos.

When to use it
- Make product photos lighter so an online store page loads faster on mobile data.
- Reduce blog and WordPress images before upload to improve page speed scores.
- Shrink a batch of holiday photos before sending them by email or WhatsApp.
- Cut the size of screenshots saved as PNG while keeping the text readable.
- Prepare images for a website or app that has a strict upload size limit.
Tips for the best result
- For photos, start at 75–80% quality. Below 60% you may start to see blocky areas in skies and skin.
- Combine compression with a Max width such as 1920 px for web use; fewer pixels save more than lower quality.
- For screenshots and logos, keep PNG output. For photos, JPG or WebP gives a much smaller file.
- If you need an exact size like 50 KB for a form, use the Compress to KB tool instead.
Frequently asked questions
How can I reduce image size without losing quality?
Use a quality between 75% and 85%. At this level most people cannot see any difference, but the file is often 50–80% smaller. You can compare the preview with your original before you download. Reducing the width of very large photos also helps a lot without visible loss on screens.
Why did my PNG not get much smaller?
PNG is a lossless format, so it can only shrink by using fewer colors. Simple graphics shrink a lot, but PNG photos stay heavy. For photos, change the Output format to JPG or WebP. If the result would be bigger than the original, the tool keeps your original file.
What quality should I use for website images?
A quality of 70–80% in JPG or WebP works well for most web photos. Also set a Max width that matches your layout, for example 1200 or 1920 pixels. This gives fast loading pages while photos still look sharp on phones and laptops.
Can I compress many images at the same time?
Yes. Drop or select as many images as you need. The same settings apply to all of them, and a counter shows the progress. When the work is done you can download each image alone or all of them together in one ZIP file.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Img Stop compresses images with your browser's own canvas engine on your device. Your photos never leave your computer or phone, which keeps private pictures private and also makes the tool fast even on a slow connection.
