About the Blur / Pixelate Image
Blur / Pixelate Image hides private details in a photo or screenshot. You draw a rectangle over the part you want to cover and choose one of three effects: a soft blur, a blocky pixelate effect, or a solid black box. You can cover as many areas as you need, apply the effect to the whole image, and undo up to 15 steps if you make a mistake.
Photos and screenshots often show more than we want: faces of children, car number plates, home addresses, phone numbers, bank details or chat names. Covering them before you post protects your privacy and other people's. For sensitive text such as passwords or card numbers, a black box is the safest choice, because it removes the information completely instead of only softening it.

When to use it
- Hide phone numbers and names in a chat screenshot before sharing it.
- Pixelate the faces of children or strangers in photos for social media.
- Blur car number plates in photos for a car sale advert.
- Black out account numbers on a bank receipt or bill you send as proof of payment.
- Cover a home address on a parcel label before posting an unboxing photo.
Tips for the best result
- Use Black box for passwords, card numbers and ID numbers. A light blur or large pixels can sometimes still be read.

- To hide many faces in a group photo automatically, try the Auto Face Blur tool.
- Save screenshots as PNG to keep the rest of the text sharp.
Frequently asked questions
How do I blur part of a picture?
Add the picture to Img Stop's Blur Image tool, then drag on it to draw a box over the part you want to hide. Keep Effect on Blur, set the Strength and press Apply to selected area. Do the same for other parts, then press Save image.
Should I blur or pixelate sensitive information?
Both hide details from casual viewers, and pixelate gives the well known censored look. For text like passwords, account numbers or ID numbers, use Black box instead. A solid black box replaces the pixels completely, so nothing can be recovered or guessed from the image.
How do I blur a face in a photo?
Drag the selection box over the face, choose Blur or Pixelate with a high Strength, and press Apply to selected area. Repeat for each face. If a photo has many faces, the Auto Face Blur tool can find and blur all of them for you automatically.
Can I undo a blur?
Yes, while the tool is open. Press Undo to remove the last change, and press it again to go back further, up to 15 steps. After you save, the blur is part of the new image, but your original file on your device is not changed.
Is my screenshot uploaded when I blur it?
No. The selection, the blur and the saving all happen in your browser on your own device. Img Stop never receives your photo, which matters when the image contains private chats, documents or faces.
