About the Circle Crop / Profile Picture
Circle Crop cuts your photo into a perfect circle for profile pictures and avatars. The tool takes a square from the image, which you can zoom up to 300% and move left, right, up or down, and then masks it into a round shape. You can add a colored ring around the edge and export at 256, 512 or 1024 pixels, or at the original crop size.
Most apps, including WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram and Google, show profile pictures in a circle. If you upload a square photo, the app cuts the corners itself and may hide part of your head or chin. Cropping to a circle first lets you see exactly how your DP will look. A transparent PNG also works well for team pages, slides and email signatures.

Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a picture into a circle?
Open Img Stop's Circle Crop tool and add your picture. Move the Zoom and Move sliders until the part you want is inside the circle in the preview. Then press Make round images. You get a round image with transparent corners, ready to download.
How do I make a round profile picture with a border?
Set the Ring width slider above 0, for example to 4% or 6%, and choose a Ring color. The ring is drawn around the edge of the circle and your photo sits inside it. This is a popular style for DPs and brand avatars.
Why does my circle image have a white background?
You chose White under Outside the circle, which saves a JPG with white corners. To get transparent corners, choose Transparent instead. The image is then saved as PNG, and only the round part is visible when you place it on any background.
What size should a profile picture be?
Apps show profile photos small, but a larger upload stays sharp on modern screens. 512 × 512 px works well for nearly all apps. Use 1024 × 1024 px for high resolution screens or printing, and 256 px for small icons, forums and chat apps.
Can I move the photo inside the circle?
Yes. Use Move left / right and Move up / down to shift the crop, and Zoom to make your face bigger. The crop always stays inside the picture, so there are no empty gaps. The preview updates as you move the sliders.
